Chassis:
One of two new cars built ahead of the 2002 season, this chassis was entrusted to BMS Scuderia Italia to compete in the FIA GT Championship. It was shared by Matteo Bobbi and Thomas Biagi, who won the first five races of the year on their way to the championship. It continued in the FIA GT Championship the following year when it was shared by Bobby and Gabriele Gardel, who finished runner up. For 2005, CRD 04 was fielded in the Italian GT Championship where it added another championship to its tally. Its sole international outing came at the Spa 1000 km where a class win was scored. One of the most successful of all Prodrive 550 GTS Maranellos built with nine pole positions and fifteen race wins. Following its retirement from contemporary racing, it was retained by Care Racing Development until it was sold to a prominent French collector, who later also added the Le Mans class winning to his stable. Chassis CRD 04 has since been raced at select Endurance Racing Legends events.
