Chassis:
The sixth of eleven F2001s built, this chassis made its victorious debut in the hands of Michael Schumacher at the Monaco Grand Prix. It then served as a spare car and was pressed back into service after Rubens Barrichello crashed his race car during the Canadian Grand Prix. The Brazilian finished fifth in his first outing with chassis 211. For the subsequent European and French Grands Prix, it was back to T-car duties. Schumacher then used the car for the German Grand Prix after he suffered gearbox issues with his main car. A fuel pressure issue prompted an early retirement. Chassis 211 was back in action at the Hungarian Grand Prix, which Schumacher won and with it secured the 2001 Formula 1 World Championship. The two-time Grand Prix winner was not raced again and was eventually sold to a private collector. In 2024 and 2025, it was overhauled by Ferrari Clienti before it was consigned to the single car RM Sotheby’s ‘Michael Schumacher Crown Jewel’ auction, scheduled for the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. A part of the proceeds will be donated to the Michael Schumacher Keeping Fighting Foundation.
