Chassis:
The first of three BGP001s built by Brawn GP for the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship. It debuted late, just ahead of the final Barcelona test during a shakedown at a cold and wet Silverstone in the hands of Jenson Button. From the start of the season, it was allocated to Rubens Barrichello, who would go on to use it for all but the last seven races of the season. Although he would finish on the podium regularly, scoring several second place finishes behind Button, a victory eluded Barrichello in chassis 01. At his final outing with this car, the Brazilian finished sixth in the German Grand Prix. As part of his contract, Jenson Button had secured the rights to own of the 2009 Brawn GP cars and, accordingly, he was gifted chassis BGP001-01 at the end of the year. The World Champion would go on to own the car until the early 2020s. It was subsequently consigned to the 2025 Bonhams Miami Grand Prix sale.
