Chassis:
The very last DBR9 produced, this example was sold new to Jan Struve and fielded by Fischer Racing under the Young Driver Aston Martin Racing banner. Although reportedly completed in 2008, it was not used until the start of the 2010 season. It was raced by Christopher Nygaard and Stefan Mücke in the FIA GT1 rounds at Abu Dhabi and Silverstone. At the latter Tourist Trophy the Danish / German pairing finished fifth overall. Chassis DBR9/109 was then entered in the Spa 1000 km with Tomáš Enge sharing the driving duties in preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A hefty accident brought a premature end to the race and the contemporary racing career of the DBR9. By late 2011, the destroyed front-end was repaired with a replacement front bulkhead. The car was then also finished in the works colours used by Aston Martin Racing during the 2006 season. It was sold by Struve in 2015 and a decade later was consigned to the RM Sotheby’s Milan sale.
