Chassis:
Originally painted red with a beige interior, this 250 TR was acquired new by American racer Ed Hugus. He entered the car in the 1958 Sebring 12 Hours for himself and John Fitch. They failed to finish due to engine issues. Chassis 0732TR was then re-painted in white with two blue stripes and nicknamed ‘Lucybelle II.’ It was subsequently entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans where Hugus and Ernie Erickson placed seventh overall and fourth in class. After two further outings in 1958, the 250 TR was sold to fellow American Russell Cowles. He raced the car into the 1960 season. In subsequent ownership, it was raced a handful of times with Augie Pabst claiming a class win at Milwaukee in 1962. The car remained in American ownership and was eventually restored during the 1980s when it was in the hands of Robert Bodin. Following a brief spell in Australian hands, it was sold to the current custodian in 1995. Since then, it has made only very public appearances.
