Chassis:
Built over the winter of 2007 / 2008 winter, this is the second of three CA07 chassis produced for Creation Autosportif. It was fitted with a 90-degree version of the familiar Judd V10 engine that was funded by the Japanese AIM engineering company. It was first raced at Le Mans as part of Creation’s two-car effort. It was shared by Johnny Mowlem, Stuart Hall and Marc Goossens. Starting from 21st, they had a difficult race and eventually finished a much delayed 11th in class. Later in the year, it was also raced at the Nürburgring and Silverstone where Hall shared with Jamie Campbell-Walter to finish eighth and sixth overall. It was then flown across the Atlantic for two rounds of the American Le Mans Series, including the Petit Le Mans. Chassis 002’s final contemporary outing came at Le Mans in 2009 where it finished 24th overall for a second year running. Strapped for cash, the Creation Autosportif team ceased operating shortly thereafter. In 2015, it was acquired by a long-term owner who had restored to full running by specialists BBM Sport. It was briefly raced in the Masters Endurance Legends series, scoring a victory at Imola in 2018. Not used since, it was consigned to the 2025 RM Sotheby’s Cliveden Hourse sale.
