Chassis:
Through Dutch distributor Pon, this 906 was delivered new to Racing Team Holland. Appropriately finished in the Dutch national racing colour of orange, it was extensively raced by the likes of Ben Pon, brothers David and Gijs van Lennep and Wim Loos. The latter scored a class win at its Zandvoort debut, while Pon also scored wins in the car at Zandvoort late in 1966 and again at Zolder in early 1967. Ahead of the 1968 season, it was sold to future Autodelta works driver Toine Hezemans, who scored additional wins at Zandvoort and at Welschap in Libre events. The next custodian was another Dutch racer, Arie Ruska, who would continue to campaign the car into the 1971 season. The car remained in The Netherlands until it was acquired by a longterm owner in 2005. It was submitted to a comprehensive restoration by specialists Gustav Ulrich and August Deutsch Mechanik. At this point, it was fitted with a 911-derived engine but is accompanied by a period correct Typ 910/20 flat six. Rarely seen since the restoration was completed, it was consigned to the 2025 RM Sotheby’s Munich sale complete with inspection reports by Walter Näher, Rolf Sprenger and Andy Prill.
